Heartbreak News, The head coach of Memphis Grizzlies, Taylor Vetter Jenkins, shed tears after Grizzlies announce their new head coach.
Tennessee’s Memphis Taylor Jenkins, the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, has been fined for remarks he made after the team’s game against the Utah Jazz on Friday night.
Jenkins was fined $25,000 by the NBA for his outspoken criticism of the officiating during the game.
Grizzlies lose 127-121 vs Jazz after failing to mount a full comeback.
Jenkins described the refereeing as “one of the most poorly officiated games I’ve ever seen” and at one point called it “expletively atrocious” after the Grizzlies’ Friday night loss to the Jazz.
Jenkins also took issue with the choice to bench Jaren Jackson Jr., the forward for the Grizzlies and the current Defensive Player of the Year.
He spends the entire evening in the paint for 23 minutes. “I get that he’s charging at an official, but he’s one of the most professional players in this league, and he gets a double technical foul,” Jenkins remarked.
