DiJonai Carrington of the Connecticut Sun stirred much controversy during a recent WNBA game by making fun of Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark after a foul call.
At Mohegan Sun Arena, the incident happened in the first half of the game when the Sun led 55–35 and were in a dominant position.
Carrington fouled Caitlin Clark as she was heading towards the hoop while she was getting an inbound pass from teammate Kristy Wallace.
Due to a screen by Aliyah Boston, Carrington was delayed and collided with Clark, which led to a foul call.
Disappointed with the ruling, Carrington implied that Clark had overstated the touch by mockingly imitating a flop.
The crowd, many of whom were there to support Clark, found this gesture offensive, and it led to jeers.
