Due To Misunderstanding,The Memphis Grizzlies head coach have decided to…
The Memphis Grizzlies have had a difficult start to 2023, losing their first six games before a win against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 5th. However, they lost to the Utah Jazz on Friday night, dropping to 1-8 and holding the NBA’s worst record.
Utah made 29 free throws compared to Memphis’ 13 attempts, while Grizzlies center Jaren Jackson was ejected after receiving two technical fouls in the third quarter.
After the game, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins, who received a technical, lashed out at the officiating crew. “Saddle up. One of the most poorly officiated games I’ve ever seen,” stated Jenkins. “Record it; I’m cool with it. F—— terrible.
Jaren Jackson plays 23 minutes and spends the entire night in the paint. He’s one of the most professional players in the league and receives a double technical foul, with the justification that he is charging an official.”
The Grizzlies will be missing standout player Ja Morant for the first 25 games of the 2023-23 season, following a second incident in which he purported to flash a gun on social media.
“It’s a good learning moment for our young players that when the game gets hectic, especially on the road, and the arena gets hectic, we have to find a way to maintain our composure,” Jazz coach Will Hardy said. “Obviously, at the conclusion of the third quarter, we had five turnovers in three and a half minutes, allowing Memphis to come back into the game. Many players made significant plays down the stretch. Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson led Utah with 26 points each.
“That’s a good experience,” Markkanen said of maintaining the lead down the stretch. “Clearly, it was not pretty. “A win is a win.”
