Sad news: It has been officially revealed that the head coach of the New York Yankees will be terminating his contract.
Reporters were informed by New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone that he is unsure if he will be asked to rejoin the organization for the upcoming campaign.
Boone has a team option that expires in 2025, but there is no assurance the team will exercise it or decide to let his contract expire. His current contract is set to expire in 2024.
After winning 6-4 against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday afternoon in their final home game of the season, the Yankees are now a disappointing 79-77, but they were knocked out of the postseason on Sunday.
Not only is the.503 winning % the lowest during Boone’s six-year tenure, but it is also the lowest for the team since a.469 total in 1992.
When questioned by reporters on Monday on his job security, Boone replied, “No, I don’t worry about it.” “It’s beyond my control.” I’m totally at ease with who I am and what I have control over.
Any changes in that area would come from the top, as reports suggest general manager Brian Cashman does not plan to remove Boone. Boone is looking for ways to get better soon and is behaving as though he will be back.
“I think my responsibility is to do everything I can to prepare for the offseason and put us in a better position to try and contend for a championship,” Boone stated. “That’s the objective, and that’s my focus until they take it away.”
