If he is not fired, I will leave the head coach of the West Tigers, as he has a misunderstanding with his star.
At the end of 2021, the Tigers reinstated him as head of football in the hopes that the legendary player may assist head coach Michael Maguire in turning around the struggling team.
However, Sheens was only sent in as a temporary replacement until Maguire was fired a few months later.
The team has now offered him a two-year contract to lead the team, alongside 2005 Premiership hero Benji Marshall, as part of a succession plan.

Paul Gallen challenged Sheens directly during her appearance on Wide World of Sports’ 2GB radio on Tuesday: “Why did you come back?”
Gallen asked a sharp question that alluded to the ongoing challenges an NRL head coach encounters and said that Sheens should have stepped back and given the keys to someone else.
“I didn’t come back to coach, no matter what people thought,” Sheens stated.

“Madge (Maguire) didn’t get her wish; the board made a choice, and I had to give it to her.
“Thereafter, it was suggested that Benji would be able to become a coach if he was trained under Wayne Bennett’s approach, in which Wayne developed a few young coaches to take over for him.
“I’ve been an interim coach for two years.”
Under Sheens, the Tigers have not won a game this season, and they have once again come under fire for their awful on-field performances.
