Another incredibly fantastic acquisition has just been announced by the head coach of Ajax Amsterdam.
Liverpool is anticipated to recruit a new center-back in the summer, and Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig has surfaced as a prominent target.
Gvardiol, who moved from Dinamo Zagreb to Leipzig in 2021 to establish himself as a vital member of the team, is quickly becoming one of the best young center-backs in the world.
The majority of Europe’s top teams have been connected to the 21-year-old Croatian, who is expected to be among the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window.
The same is true for Liverpool, as Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany reports that Gvardiol is “on the list” as the Reds consider their defensive options.
The same publication follows up with another claim stating that there is a “particular interest” in the young man, but Plettenberg emphasizes that there have been “no negotiations” and that “Leipzig want to keep him.”
Given that a €110 million release clause won’t activate until 2024, it wouldn’t be shocking if Liverpool looked for other targets.

Interestingly, though, Sky Germany reports that Evan Ndicka, 23, of Eintracht Frankfurt, and Jurrien Timber, 21, of Ajax, are also being evaluated as potential contenders.
Ajax Life was informed last month by Timber, a right-sided center-back who can also play right-back, that he would “look at his options” this summer.
Ndicka, on the other hand, is left-handed, capable of playing left-back, and when his contract expires in July, he will be a free agent.
The two center backs join a long list of players who have already been consistently linked to Liverpool, including:
Chelsea’s Levi Colwill (20)
Gonzalo Inacio (Sporting CP, 21), Perr Schuurs (Torino, 23), and Antonio Silva (Benfica, 19)
Nayef Aguerd, 26, of West Ham
Evan 20 Jarrad Branthwaite
