Vladimir Firstov, a forward, was placed on unconditional waivers by the Wild on Tuesday. That’s for the intention of terminating the deal, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Firstov, 22, had a plus-minus of plus-one and four points (two goals, two assists) in ten games with the Iowa Wild the previous campaign. Having been selected in the second round of the 2019 NHL draft, he has spent the last three seasons with Iowa, playing in 19 games.
During the course of the last two seasons, Firstov has also played in the KHL while on loan from the Wild. With Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, he has scored 61 points (28 goals, 33 assists) and accrued a plus-minus of plus-12.
Firstov signed a one-year contract with the Wild in 2022. If Firstov’s contract hadn’t been terminated, it would have lasted until the 2024–25 season.
