Sadly, the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets has announced the sacking of a legendary player because he wants to sign a new deal.
Coach Steve Nash was let go, marking the first casualty of the Brooklyn Nets’ terrible season opener.
After a dismal 2-5 start tainted by controversy off the court, including Kyrie Irving’s social media endorsement of an anti-Semitic video, the Nets dismissed Nash on Wednesday (all times AEDT).
The Nets intend to sign Udoka to replace Nash, according to reports from Shams Charania of The Athletic and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Celtics would allow Udoka to leave for a different position, Wojnarowski continued. Yahoo Sports also stated that the Celtics will not pursue reimbursement.
Two years prior, Udoka was an assistant with the Nets; in his first season as head coach of the Boston Celtics, the team made it to the NBA Finals.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer said The Mismatch podcast, “This tells me they think Udoka is the guy who can make it work with this mess they currently have.”
“However, I don’t think this team can get out of its current situation with just a new coach.”
The decision was made in response to rumors that Kevin Durant wanted Nash fired during the offseason.
“It is unfortunate to see Steve Nash leave the Brooklyn Nets, but he was placed in an unfavorable circumstance.” He tweeted, “They must now go get Ime Udoka as soon as possible.
“Like, this now!!! Since he is not wanted by the Celtics, who are leading their group,.
Meanwhile, Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports asserted that the Nets have to completely overhaul their roster by dealing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The Nets were dealt a blow in the off-season when Durant, who inked a four-year $303 million AUD contract, insisted on a trade in exchange for the Nets holding their ground.
In the off-season, Irving chose to accept a $56 million AUD contract extension.
“They should tear this apart; they are going to try to keep it together,” Goodwill stated.
“Now that the Nets are down two games to five and appear to be a wholly inconsistent team, there is no way for them to win the championship or finish.”
“That’s the best thing you can do, especially while Kyrie Irving burns everything down,”
Not only does the team’s performance on the court change dramatically with the addition of Kevin Durant, but the worth of the entire franchise is also altered.
“I’m not sure how many more defeats they would have to endure before making that decision.”
Meanwhile, NBA podcaster Chris Vernon feels that, given Nash’s tense relationship with Durant and a wild off-season in which the star forward asked for a trade, the writing was clearly on the wall.
“Do you believe the top player would have resisted this? In the NBA, coach firings occur 99 percent of the time. On The Mismatch podcast, he stated, “The answer is always no; in fact, they are the agents of change, many times.”
