He is back. The st.louis cardinals have just announced the return of their former head coach

While I didn’t want to leave you without anything to discuss, I believe that today would be a great day for an open thread. We also need to discuss something from yesterday!

Yadier Molina’s return to the Cardinals has apparently been discussed, according to a report from Fox 2’s Sports Director Martin Kilcoyne. Not as a player, obviously. still, in the capacity of coach.

Molina has international management experience. He has said in the past that he wants to be a major league manager. Joining the Cardinals’ coaching staff under Oli Marmol would be the first step toward making such a transfer.

This disclosure seems to line up with a Derrick Goold Post Dispatch piece about possible additions to the coaching staff. These additions could be beneficial.

The team’s catchers, including Willson Contreras, improve as defensive catchers.

Is there anyone, really anyone, that the Cardinals may look to help Ivan Herrera and Willson Contreras meet the high expectations the franchise has for the catcher position?

It is evident that the Cardinals are not ready to make an announcement just yet, and based on Kilcoyne’s findings, it seems like both parties are only thinking about it. Still, it makes sense.

In my opinion, it would be great to have some of Yadier Molina’s presence in the clubhouse, leadership, and creative game planning. as long as he gets along with the analytics section. He probably won’t be able to. But if he wants to manage in an MLB that is stats-driven, he will have to.
