I will leave if he is not fired: corolado buffaloes head coach…

According to Bruce Feldman and Justin Williams of The Athletic, Colorado defensive ends coach Nick Williams is reportedly leaving the Broncos to take a coaching position elsewhere.

Since the team’s season concluded, Tim Brewster, the coach of tight ends, resigned, and offensive coordinator Sean Lewis became the new head coach at San Diego State. He is the third coach to quit Deion Sanders’ staff.

For Coach Prime’s Buffaloes, the early offseason has not been smooth.

Four players—left lineman Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan, center Van Wells, linebacker Marvin Ham II, and tight end Caleb Fauria—have declared their desire to use the transfer portal, and the program has already had five recruits from the Class of 2024 and 2025 decommit.

After a 3-0 start to the season, Colorado became the most popular story in sports. However, reality soon set in, and the Buffs concluded the season 4-7, dropping their final six games.

Following his hire in the offseason, Sanders pounced on the transfer portal, adding 69 scholarship players to the 2023 roster. Sanders has maintained his public confidence that Colorado would once more improve through the portal.

Following the team’s November 23–17 defeat to Utah, he assured reporters, “You gonna be pleased with what’s coming; I promise you that.” “But everything that you see that we have a lack thereof, a deficit, we’re gonna fill that need.”

It looks like that will involve the coaching staff as well. Williams was a difficult loss for a club that is ranked just 65th in 247Sports’ Composite Rankings for the Class of 2024 because he was allegedly a major recruiter for the Buffs.

Sanders has had his job cut out for him rebuilding the Buffaloes since Colorado has never been a powerhouse and because the Pac-12 is rich with talent. In September, he made Colorado football one of the most anticipated events in college football, but some of the realities of the job are beginning to sink in.

Whether Sanders can truly turn around the Buffaloes will depend on how he reacts during this offseason and beyond as Colorado prepares to play in the redesigned Big 12.
