Positve update ; The arizona cardinals former head coach will be coming back to the team.
This weekend, the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals will return to Cleveland, the city that inspired his passion of football and first saw him exhibit the traits of a great coach. Friday was the Cardinals’ flight east for a two-day journey that concludes immediately after their Sunday game against the Browns.
Gannon, a multi-sport star at St. Ignatius High School, which is located close to Cleveland’s city center, requested if he could take his squad to the field, where he was a member of the 1999 state championship team and an all-state defensive back. It was made possible by St. Ignatius, which inducted Gannon into its Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. The Cardinals had scheduled a mock game to take place on the school’s field on Saturday.

Gannon remarked of the Cardinals players this past week, “It’ll be cool for those guys.” “They have diverse visual preferences. It will be enjoyable, and I’m sure it will bring back some memories of their high school.”
For most of the week, Gannon played down his homecoming, at least to media. When asked if it meant more to him to return to Cleveland as an NFL head coach, he said yes.
“It’s the most important (game) because it’s the next one,” he stated, making it clear that he didn’t want to be bothered by anyone despite not knowing how many of his supporters would be present.
Even so, it’s a rare opportunity to play football at his alma mater again, this time with his team in a private setting (Gannon requested that the current St. Ignatius football team not be permitted to witness the walk-through).
“When we went to Washington (D.C.) on a two-day trip, we did the mock game at Georgetown Prep, which is where (owner) Michael (Bidwill) went,” Gannon said. “Some of my close friends visited that place. Thus, it was interesting to learn about their high school and other related details. It’s a great facility, but it will be a little cool outside. It will be fun for our boys.”
Budda Baker, the safety for the Cardinals, learned of the high school visit on Thursday.
It will be fun to visit his former haunts. Depending on how it appears, you might probably give him a little smack talk,” Baker said.

The motivation for Jonathan Gannon
Chuck Kyle, the previous head coach at St. Ignatius, had been waiting months for Gannon to return. He was interviewed by The Arizona Republic shortly after Gannon was chosen the head coach of the Cardinals, and he raved about one of the best players he had ever coached. Kyle has influenced Gannon’s tactics and style of coaching.
“This guy is from Cleveland, and he’s going to play the Browns.” It will be enjoyable, Kyle remarked in February. “I think that’d be thrilling for him, too.”
