Starting with the 2022 season, Frank Reich, head coach of the Carolina Panthers, was also head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. He was released go by the Colts nearly exactly a year ago, hence he did not finish his fifth season.

Rebuilding, his Panthers defeated the Houston Texans for their first victory last week, and on Sunday, the Colts will go to Charlotte to play the Panthers and their former coach.

Reich and his tenure in Indianapolis are fond memories for a number on the Colts team today.

Reich met head coach Shane Steichen early in their careers. The San Diego Chargers employed Steichen as an offensive quality control coach in 2014 and 2015 when Reich served as the offensive coordinator.

“I really do respect Frank,” Steichen declared this week. “Excellent football coach, knowledgeable about the game and even a better person overall. The two years I spent with him in San Diego, I was struck by his leadership qualities and the wisdom he brought from his time as a player. I look forward to seeing him on Sunday and have great respect for him.
