The Cincinnati Reds head coach has been suspended due to a misunderstanding, which is unbelievable news for the brave fans.
For daring supporters, the news that the Cincinnati Reds head coach has been suspended because of a misunderstanding is unimaginable.
After his mishap the previous night, suspended Reds manager David Bell intended to watch Friday’s game in private.
Fans recognized Bell, who is serving a six-game ban for his part in a benches-clearing altercation this week, as he attempted unsuccessfully to watch his team from the stands on Thursday at SunTrust Park. They wanted to talk and get selfies with him throughout the action.
“What happened first was that I went to the outfield seats because I am allowed in the seats and I blend in,” he stated prior to Cincinnati’s game against the Atlanta Braves. “Nobody ever cared or knew who I was or what I did, but I don’t know. I sat down, and people immediately approached me, given everything that had happened over the previous few days. I then headed into the concourse with the intention of switching seats. ‘Look, there’s the manager!’ people exclaimed. This was never going to work, I realized.
Bell walked out of the ballpark and into the Omni hotel behind Center Field. He stayed at the hotel to watch the game until the satellite TV service was cut off. Before severe storms struck the area and ended the game in the seventh inning, he went from restaurant to restaurant in the Battery shopping district next to the ballpark.
If I’m in the stadium, I just have to be in one of the seats,” he remarked.
In his place, the squad is being led by bench coach Freddie Benavides.
“It’s really hard for me,” Bell remarked. The people handling us are excellent. No worries there, although it’s quite difficult for me.”
Bell received an invitation to view the game on a network radio station located just outside the stadium.
“I’ve got the MLB app setup on my phone,” he remarked. It eludes me why I never considered that. I can watch it anywhere tonight now. That’s me covered.
