Good news: The San Francisco Giants has established a new name

With more victories than any other club in the annals of major American sports, the franchise is among the most illustrious and enduring in professional baseball history.[6] The franchise, which most famously played home games at various incarnations of the Polo Grounds, was the first major-league team established in New York City. The Giants have participated in 20 World Series. The Giants won their then-record 23rd National League title in 2014; the rival Dodgers have since matched and then surpassed this milestone, and as of 2022, they will have won 24 NL pennants. With eight World Series titles, the Giants are second in the National League and sixth overall among all franchises.

Under the direction of managers John McGraw, Bill Terry, and Leo Durocher, the team won five World Series titles and 17 pennants while based in New York. The greatest number of Giants, sixty-three, are inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, including Christy Mathewson, Carl Hubbell, Mel Ott, and Willie Mays.[8] One of the oldest and most well-known rivalries in American sports, the Giants vs. Dodgers started in New York and persisted after both clubs moved to California in 1958.[9][10]

After moving to the west, the Giants suffered three World Series losses and a 56-year title drought despite the efforts of two of baseball’s all-time greats, Barry Bonds and Mays[11]. At last, the drought broke.
