On the 40, Sarkisian has accomplished a great deal in just three seasons. After his debut, the Longhorns finished 5-7. They went on to win 8-5 after that, but they were defeated by Washington in the Alamo Bowl.
In his third year, Texas is exactly where he anticipated it would be when he entered the position. Now that Sark’s Big 12 Champions will be participating in the College Football Playoffs for the first time, the Horns are back among the best in college football.
Big 12 championship won by the Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are taking their first Big 12 championship since 2009 with a 49-21 victory over Oklahoma State.
“I am aware that winning championships is subject to high standards and expectations. But for that reason, I came here. And when it came to our players, I never wavered. I adhered to that consistently. 5-7, 8-5, and even into this current season,” remarked Sarkisian.

“A few of these guys came from that 5-7 squad to our current position. For those guys, there’s no greater feeling, and I’m just happy to be a member of a group that can experience such delight. Because they understand what it’s like to be ignored,” quarterback Quinn Ewers, a sophomore, said.
“I’m appreciative of our players. They had faith in me. Of the route and the procedure that would be necessary to arrive at this point,” Sarkisian continued.
