Breaking Unbelievable News Now, The New Orleans Pelicans former head coach and two players have announced their return to the team.
Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin says to expect a peaceful, calm summer despite the NBA’s impending free agency frenzy. With an inspiring playoff run having replaced the previous season’s woes, it’s becoming easier to believe him. The biggest concern with this stacked squad is that younger players like Dyson Daniels and Kira Lewis Jr. won’t have an abundance of playing time for growth.
Entering training camp, head coach Willie Green has a solid challenge on his hands. The Pelicans have more talent than playing time, especially with Zion Williamson back. It’s but one example of how, after three years on the job, Griffin’s strategy is effective.
For various reasons, Alvin Gentry, Stan Van Gundy, Anthony Davis, and Jrue Holiday are no longer with us. Willie Green, Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, Dyson Daniels, and Zion Williamson have taken their place. This new base seems like the nucleus of a championship team. Green’s next major coaching task is to figure out how to maintain everyone’s happiness.
Over the previous four seasons, Brandon Ingram (34 mpg) has averaged 34 minutes per game. Despite his spectacular NBA Playoffs performance, he was left off of the All-Star squad. This season, expect to see the Duke product showcase his skill set for a little longer.
With a 60.4% shooting percentage from the field, Zion Williamson (33 mpg) has averaged 25.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. The 2019 first-round selection, though, has only participated in 85 professional games. The “max level player” may now play without limitations, and judging by the latest Nike advertisements, he looks to be in the best shape of his life. The Pelicans won’t think twice about giving him a longer contract or the minutes that go along with it.
For the majority of the previous ten years, CJ McCollum (33 mpg) provided the Portland Trail Blazers with 33–36 minutes every game. Leading the way are Ingram and Williamson, so McCollum will get some extra time to relax as the younger players finish games.
Next season, the Pelicans will win a greater number of blowout games than they lose. Williamson, McCollum, and Ingram will still play a minimum of 90 to 95 minutes apiece on average per game.

Mar. 8, 2022, Memphis, Tennessee, USA: At the conclusion of the third quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum, New Orleans Pelicans forward-center Larry Nance Jr. (24), guard Jose Alvarado (15), guard Devonte’ Graham (4), forward Gary Clark (12), and center-forward Willy Hernangomez (9) make their way toward the bench.
Despite being an All-Defensive team snub, Herb Jones (30 mpg) is still working on his shot and ballhandling. Playing 84 games and accumulating 2.561 minutes, the second-round revelation led all rookies in thefts with 130, which ranked third in the NBA. Jones established a starting position heading into training camp by blocking 60 shots.
Throughout his career, Jonas Valanciunas (25 mpg) has contributed to the enhancement of the team culture at each location. The big man from Lithuania has persevered over extended playoff runs despite suffering injuries on the field in Toronto, Memphis, and now New Orleans.
Throughout the regular season, Williamson will have space to work and lengthier breaks from the team thanks to the respected veteran. Williamson is thirty years old. He will still have enough time to average a game-high 17.8 points and 11.4 rebounds. A big man who makes 54.4% of his shots, including 82.0% from the free-throw line, won’t be ignored by Willie Green.
