Executive Director of College Hockey Inc. Mike Snee announced today that Sadie Lundquist has been appointed as the group’s first-ever director of women’s hockey. Lundquist will take the lead in College Hockey Inc.’s endeavors to increase the visibility and reputation of women’s collegiate hockey. She formally starts her job on Monday, January 22.

Snee stated, “We were extremely fortunate to have many highly qualified and impressive people express interest in being College Hockey Inc.’s first director of women’s hockey.” Sadie stood out as the most intriguing member of this fascinating group. Sadie was a very attractive candidate because of her on-ice experience as a professional and NCAA player, as well as her off-ice marketing and leadership skills. We thought Sadie was the best person to take on this significant responsibility when we combined that with her contagious excitement for women’s hockey.

College Hockey Inc. was able to hire a second full-time employee who is committed to women’s hockey thanks to funding provided by an increased grant from the National Hockey League.

“It is critical for the continued growth and vitality of our sport to support the continued development of women’s college hockey by partnering with College Hockey Inc.,” NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly stated. It will greatly increase general interest in and involvement in the sport in addition to inspiring and empowering prospective athletes. For this reason, we see our collaboration with College Hockey Inc. as a strategic investment that advances the hockey community as a whole.

Lundquist, who played professionally with the Minnesota Whitecaps of the NWHL from 2017 to 2019, and collegiately at Bemidji State University from 2009 to 2013, adds a wealth of hockey expertise to College Hockey Inc. She also worked in the Minnesota Wild front office for seven years. The most recent position held by Lundquist was senior manager of client strategy and services at customer experience firm Bold Orange, located in Minneapolis.

Lundquist declared, “I’m ecstatic to be joining the College Hockey Inc. team.” “Hockey has shaped so much of who I am, and I am really appreciative of the chance it has given me to pursue this passion professionally. It’s a credit to women’s hockey’s development that this position exists, and I’m proud to contribute to its ongoing momentum.

Lundquist, a native of Cloquet, Minnesota, represented Cloquet High School in three Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournaments. After that, she continued her undergraduate career at Bemidji State, where in 144 games, she scored 83 points overall. As a junior in 2011–12, she scored the most points for the Beavers, and the following year, she captained the group. She minored in management and leadership and received a magna cum laude bachelor’s degree in business administration and sport management.

Lundquist spent time with the Minnesota Whitecaps throughout his playing career. She took part in the NWHL All-Star Game in 2018 and guided the Whitecaps to the 2019 Isobel Cup victory.

Lundquist began working as a fan relations account executive for the Minnesota Wild after earning her degree from BSU. Managing more than 600 corporate and season-ticket member accounts, organizing and carrying out Wild events, yearly marketing campaigns, and the organization’s youth hockey nights, camps, girls hockey weekends, and other hockey events were among her duties.

Later, she became a senior manager on the client strategy and services team of Bold Orange. In order to create yearly marketing plans that included strategy, creative, media, and analytics, Lundquist led client partnerships by determining clients’ marketing goals, initiatives, and channels.

Along with her spouse Caroline, Lundquist, who lives in Saint Paul, Minn., was a four-year participant in the Red Bull Crashed Ice competition.
