Breaking news: Two players and the head coach of the Calgary Stampers have announced their departure from the team.
The Calgary Stampeders coaching staff saw several exits, but they have now assembled their 2024 squad.
Dave Dickenson, the general manager and coach of the Stampeders, revealed the coaching staff on Monday, which included two new members. Ryan Williams has joined as the quarterbacks coach and Andre Bolduc as the running backs coach.
The recent acquisitions follow the dismissal of J.R. Davies, the former running backs coach, from his position. This offseason, Marc Mueller, the former quarterbacks coach, left the Stampeders to become the offensive coordinator for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Bolduc spent a total of ten seasons as an assistant coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes. He was head coach at the University of Sherbrooke as well. Bolduc was a wide receiver with the Ottawa Rough Riders, Edmonton, and Montreal during his six seasons as a player in the Canadian Football League.
Williams spent six years working as an assistant coach with the Georgia Bulldogs when he was in the United States. He was a quarterback in college for Miami and Memphis before becoming a coach. He briefly participated in NFL play with the Green Bay Packers as well.
The remainder of Dickenson’s personnel from the 2023 squad is back. The remaining coaches on his staff for 2024 are listed here.
The team also announced they had brought in Daryl Chambers to take over as the strength and conditioning coach.

On Monday, Buckley declared his retirement from the CFL. The previous season, he was Calgary’s backup to starting player Bo Levi Mitchell.
Buckley, a native of Calgary who excelled as a football player for the University of Calgary Dinos before joining his hometown CFL team, found it difficult to announce his retirement.
He claimed that when he told Stampeder head coach Dave Dickenson of his choice, he sobbed.
At McMahon Stadium on Monday, Buckley remarked, “I could hardly get a word out.” It’s difficult. The hometown team has offered me a fantastic opportunity; they’re a team that I
