Adam LaRoche, the baseball star, claims he has “zero regrets” about turning down a multimillion-dollar contract after learning his son was no longer allowed to hang out in the clubhouse.

Before the season started, LaRoche quit the Chicago White Sox and his $13 million deal after being informed that his 14-year-old son Drake could no longer spend every day at the ballpark during a “short, heated conversation.”

‘I have no resentment. There is nobody there that I despise. You know, that just made my decision simple,” LaRoche said on Good Morning America with T.J. Holmes of ABC News.

To be honest, I don’t think it’s the end of the world. For that, I am grateful to my parents. the manner in which I was brought up. Because, as I’ve previously stated, I don’t want baseball to define me. I’m aware that life is much more than this.

“Our kids are going to follow in our footsteps, good or bad,” he continued. And as you can see, we have this tiny window—this really tiny window—to help them become the men they will be.

“And even for $13 million, I don’t want to miss six months of that window.”
