Cashing in for around £8 to £10 million would have been a sensible move if the Sky Blues were still mired in the middle of the table and promotion seemed improbable.
However, they are currently among the division’s best teams and have a genuine chance to make the playoffs once more.
Based on that, it could be wise to stick with O’Hare and take a chance on that promotion push.

The 25-year-old doesn’t appear to be signing a contract extension before the end of the current campaign, and even then, it’s probably dependent on them finishing in the top division.
That is undoubtedly a risk, but Coventry must accept it since they appear poised to launch a significant promotion push in the second half of the season.
Although it seems sense that teams like Burnley, Leicester, and Southampton are interested, it would be surprising if any of them made a bid high enough to persuade the Sky Blues to sell given that O’Hare would be free in the summer.
