CALGARY: On Thursday, head coach Dave Dickenson completed the Calgary Stampeders 2021 roster.
T.J. Vernieri has been appointed as an offensive assistant to the Stampeders, and Bob Slowik has joined as a defensive assistant. In 2019, Slowik was the defensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes, while Vernieri was the receivers coach at Williamsport, Pennsylvania’s Division III Lycoming College for two years.

Before moving to the North, Slowik coached in the NFL for more than 20 years. He also served as a defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, and Denver Broncos for a total of ten seasons.

Dickenson released a statement saying, “I am very excited to add Bob and T.J. to our coaching staff, they’re certainly a study in contrasts.” “After more than three decades of coaching in the pros and collegiate ranks, Bob undoubtedly has a wealth of information, while T.J. is an eager young coach just getting his feet wet in the professional football ranks.

“This is a terrific opportunity to bring new ideas and voices into our coaching group and I know they will both be great additions to the team.”
