Unbelivable The Nebraska Cornhuskers, former head coach, Scott Frost, has announced his return to the team.
In an interview with CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, former Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost discussed his time away from the collegiate game. It’s safe to say that he is itching to coach once more.
It would be an understatement to say that Frost’s tenure as the football program’s head coach at Nebraska was uneventful. Throughout his tenure, concerns over his work ethic and subpar on-field performance were persistent. Between 2018 and 2022, he attended Nebraska and had a record of 16–31.
Everything culminated in September 2022, when the program suffered a 45-42 defeat at the hands of Georgia Southern. The day after the defeat, on September 11, he was fired, and Mickey Joseph was named temporary head coach in his place. After a turbulent tenure, Frost’s departure was unceremoniously handled, making him the first Nebraska head coach without a winning record since Bill Jennings.
Frost has taken a break from the game and now wants to return. He claims that the field is where he belongs, not a press box or television booth. As he told Dodd, he wants to be back on the field.
“I am aware that there are some excellent coaches out there. I’m an effective coach. I should be doing it,” Frost remarked. “I simply don’t know where that will be at this time with certainty. I would accept the head coach position if it were offered. I’d accept the coordinator position if it were to come up.
Frost must reestablish his position.
If Frost is fortunate enough to find another head coaching position, he might need to take it slow when returning to the position. It’s unlikely that he will be working at Nebraska for very long. Still, he might wind up as an offensive coordinator of some kind. When he was the football head coach at Nebraska, he was very strong on the offensive line in terms of output and game plans.
