Very unfortunate, the legendary Yankee has formally declared his retirement.

Having won the Cy Young Award twice, the pitcher was among the best in the last ten years. During his career, Kluber struck out 1,725 batters in more than 1,600 innings, recorded a 3.44 ERA, and a 1.129 WHIP. In 2017, he led the American League in wins two times, was an All-Star three times, and led the league in ERA.

Kluber will undoubtedly be inducted into the Cleveland Guardians Hall of Fame as one of the franchise’s all-time greats.

With the Yankees for just one season, he made 16 starts and had an ERA of 3.83.

In a statement, Kluber expressed gratitude to New York and all the teams he has played with in his career.

Although it may seem unlikely, his two Cy Young Awards should support his candidacy for the Baseball Hall of Fame. The majority of players who have won two Cy Young Awards are in Cooperstown.

Johan Santana, Brett Saberhagen, and other musicians, however, have not been admitted into the Hall of Fame. Although Kluber was among the best in baseball during his prime, his chances will not be enhanced by his lack of success during the final five years of his career.

He had a notable career, whether or not he is elected to the Hall of Fame. He only played for the Yankees for a single season, but in that season he did pitch the Texas Rangers to a no-hitter.
