She had to comically tromp a rookie for the Milwaukee Brewers on Twitter after he claimed that his wife’s absence had led to a game-winning play.
On Wednesday, when the squad faced the New York Mets, Garrett Mitchell, 24, hit his first walk-off home run. Mitchell crushed a 3-2 pitch to right field seats to give the Brewers the advantage over the Mets.
Haley Cruse Mitchell, Mitchell’s wife, wasted little time in standing up for herself.
Shortly after her husband’s remark, Haley, a successful softball player in her own right, tweeted, “YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO CALL ME OUT LIKE THAT @GarretMitchell5”
“Never going to a game again, you’re welcome Brewers fans,” she subsequently said.
Haley continued by posting a screen grab of a conversation in which her parents were asked if “G walk off?”
