Due to his wife, The all time favorite player of Green Bay Packers has officially announced his retirement
Aaron Rodgers is expected to be traded to the New York Jets a few weeks after he made headlines over his possible retirement.
On Monday, April 24, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that the Green Bay Packers were moving Rodgers to the New York Jets for the No. 13, 42, and 207 picks in the Thursday, April 26 NFL draft, along with the Nos. 15 and 170 picks. Later, at a press conference, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed the report while pointing out that the terms aren’t “finalized yet.”
Of course, Aaron is getting older. I believe that he still has a lot of football left in him, but when we discussed our goals during the offseason, I believe that this made some sense for the team, Gutekunst told reporters. That disappointed and unfortunate for me a little bit. However, I also believe that as time goes on, we’re very interested in seeing where [backup QB] Jordan [Love] can end up. We’re working to construct.
In an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show at the time, the NFL player stated, “I feel like I’ll be a lot closer to that final, final decision after that. It’s an opportunity to do a little self-reflection in some isolation.” “Several of my friends who have done it report having had really moving experiences.”
When sports journalist Michael Balko tweeted in October 2022 that the athlete was considering hanging up his cleats, speculation over his possible retirement got underway.
“QB Aaron Rodgers has’made it clear’ that he plans to retire following the season, according to some people within the #Packers organization,” reported Balko at the time.
