A medical issue on Saturday has resulted in the official suspension of Ajax’s match against RKC Waalwijk.

With five minutes remaining and the score tied 3-2 in favor of the visitors, Brian Brobbey seemed to bump into goalie Etienne Vaessen’s head, resulting in the game being stopped.

The RKC Waalwijk player, 28, was badly hurt in the process and was unable to stand up, necessitating emergency medical assistance.
Players on the field were obviously upset and encircled Vaessen to shield him from onlookers before he was eventually taken off the field on a stretcher.
Later, RKC Waalwijk announced that the game will be suspended and that there will be further information soon. Additionally, Ajax released a statement endorsing the player’s recuperation.
