Meaghan Mikkelson considers hockey to be her way of life. The two-time Olympic gold champion knows how to play the position and has represented Canada on defense as well as offensively. But Mikkelson is prepared for a fresh challenge this time.

Sportsnet 960 revealed in September that Mikkelson would succeed longtime color analyst Peter Loubardias in his new position as the Calgary Flames’ first female radio pundit.

“It’s been really thrilling,” she began, then clarified, “I had to go through the entire audition process back in the summer when I was approached about a prospective position. It has somewhat taken a while to happen.”

“I adore playing hockey. It’s a lifelong love of mine, deeply ingrained in my identity and experiences,” the woman remarked.
