The Hamilton Tigers Cats critical player has finally decided to retire due to his parents, which is producing a lot of issues for the team.
The quarterback who guided the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to their most recent Grey Cup triumph more than 20 years ago claims that his induction into the team’s Wall of Honor is a testament to his teammates, who helped him improve.
At the Ticats’ game against Saskatchewan on Friday, there will be a halftime ceremony on the west side of Tim Hortons Field, where Masoli and his number 14 will be inducted.
McManus said on 900 CHML’s Good Morning Hamilton, “I’ve never been a person to stand out in front and take all the glory and stuff like that.”
“My tendency to work well in a team is a result of all the guys who have supported me both on and off the field when I’ve had the chance to play football.”

McManus won a Grey Cup in 1999 and participated in 141 games with the black and gold over the course of eight seasons (1998–2005).
In terms of throwing yards (33,841), passing touchdowns (164), pass completions (2,368), and pass attempts (4,257), he owns the franchise records all-time.
After being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League in the eleventh round of the draft, Masoli joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and helped them win the Grey Cup in 1990.

The product of Dania Beach, Florida, played two seasons with Edmonton in 1996–1997 before joining the Ticats in 1998. He won a second Grey Cup with the BC Lions in 1994.
McManus was an all-star and the 1999 CFL’s Most Outstanding Player.

Darren Flutie, a former wide receiver who played with the quarterback for the Lions and Cats from 1993 to 2002, recalls that McManus’s strongest qualities were his strong arm and composure under duress.
The relationship between the ex-roommates on the field started in 1994 during the Lions’ Grey Cup run, which resulted in a historic play when Darren grabbed a touchdown pass to eliminate brother Doug and the fancied Calgary Stampeders in the postseason.
