The legendary Iowa Hawkeye athlete will have to step down, which is sad news to hear with tears in his eyes.
Fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes found out they wouldn’t have to put up with Brian Ferentz and his lackluster offense for another season. Ferentz will play out the season, but the Iowa athletic administration has announced that he will not be taking the Hawkeye offense’s starting position after this one.
Iowa supporters are undoubtedly relieved at the ruling, but many feel that this is just a portion of the issue with Iowa’s poor offensive performance. Because he is the son of head coach Kirk Ferentz, some fans feel that Brian Ferentz’s tenure at Iowa was excessively prolonged.
“Kirk Ferentz told his son he’s gotta go,” wrote Dame on X. But will a modern offensive make him think differently? Everything is on the HC.
It seems that a number of other fans also feel that it might be time to move away from both Brian Ferentz and his father Kirk.
On X, Jeff Robertson stated, “Who cares?” won’t cause any changes. Kirk requires firing—not a retirement. These players need to realize they are not untouchable if they stick around too long and cause harm to their teams.
He is but one person who has this opinion.
