Due to his wife The Hamilton tigers cats player who retired years ago,has announced his return to the team
Adrian Tracy says he’s leaving football in his own terms, but the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic helped his decision.
After ten professional seasons, the seasoned CFL defensive lineman announced on Monday that he was retiring to support his new wife, Kayla-Marie, a reporter for Toronto’s CP24. Before joining the Montreal Alouettes as a free agent, six-foot-three, 248-pound Tracy played five seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2015–19).
However, Tracy, 33, was never able to play in Montreal because the pandemic forced the CFL to postpone the ’20 season. It has published an 18-game schedule for 2021, but there are still unanswered concerns about the start of play because the league’s return-to-play procedures are still pending with provincial health officials.
I still have a lot of unanswered questions, and I know that going into this new chapter, I need more assurances about the direction I’m going in,” Tracy remarked. “My wife, our future children, my extended family, and some other goals and objectives I’ve had since turning pro athlete are all important to me now. It’s not just about me.
“I’m aware that my wife would support me no matter what I did, but I’ve come to the realization that I’d like to have things end on my terms rather than leave it up to the higher forces. I thought football was fantastic, and the CFL was really important. I don’t take it for granted because it brought my wife and I together, but given the currentstatus and direction they’re headed, it’s too risky for me to put my time, body, and mind on the line and offer them my confidence and faith.
