Breaking Unbelievable News Now: Crystal Palace’s former head coach and two players have announced their return to the team.

Unbelievable News Just in: Two players and the previous head coach of Crystal Palace have declared their return to the team.

Prior to Crystal Palace’s match against Everton on Monday night, Roy Hodgson resigned as manager of the team. Oliver Glasner, a former head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt, will take over at Selhurst Park.

Roy Hodgson has left Crystal Palace, and Oliver Glasner, a former manager of Eintracht Frankfurt, has taken over as the next manager at Selhurst Park.

Hodgson resigned from his position after leading his team to three victories in 17 Premier League games. He was hospitalized on Thursday after fainting during practice. The team has verified that he is no longer in the hospital.

Steve Parish, the Eagles’ chairman, took the decision despite the team’s five-point lead over the relegation zone in 15th place because he fears they could be drawn into the scrap.

In March 2023, the 76-year-old took over as Palace’s manager for the second time on a temporary basis, taking over from Patrick Vieira. After leading them to 11th position in the 2023–24 season, he was retained, but he had a challenging campaign, winning just six of the 24 games.

Following additional testing in the hospital, Hodgson was deemed “stable” by the Premier League team following his illness on Thursday during training. As a result, prior to Monday night’s game at Everton, Palace canceled Hodgson’s planned pre-match press conference.

Hodgson stated: “This club has had a significant impact on my football career and is very special to me.” I have thoroughly loved my six seasons here since I get to work with elite athletes and staff every day and do what I love.

But given the current situation, I recognize that it might be wise for the team to make plans ahead of time. For that reason, I have decided to step down, allowing the team to move forward with their summertime plans to choose new management.

“I want to express my gratitude to my coaching staff and backroom crew, who have supported me so much along the journey, as well as to Steve Parish and his American partners for their assistance. A special thank you goes out to coaches Paddy McCarthy and Dean Kiely, as well as the outstanding sports science, video analysis, and medical departments. Ray Lewington has been a longtime friend and helper of mine.

“The present group of players has been a pleasure to work with; they are a credit to the club and themselves. I extend my gratitude and respect to them. For the duration of this season and beyond, I have no doubt that our supporters will continue to provide the team with unwavering support.

“I’m sure the season will end well, and I hope the team has the best possible weeks, months, and seasons ahead of them.”

IN PROFILE: Oliver Glasner, the new Crystal Palace manager, is introduced.
“Roy has a special place in Crystal Palace history, and this will never be forgotten,” Chairman Steve Parish stated. He returned to us over a year ago to steady the ship, and he did a fantastic job after leading the team to Premier League status for four years. His willingness to stay on until the summer indicates how dedicated he is to our team. To put it simply, Roy is the reason we are still in the Premier League.

It’s safe to assume that Roy has the keys to Selhurst Park and will always be welcome back. I would like to thank Roy very much for his service and wish him the best in the future.

“I also want to thank Roy personally for his friendship, professionalism, and support. He has been our manager for half of the Premier League season, and I have really enjoyed working with and learning from him.

Hodgson’s employment had been in jeopardy before the incident last week for a while. Parish has finally made the decision to take action, appointing Europa League champion Glasner before pivotal matches.

In the UEFA Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers FC, Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner celebrates with his squad after victory. Glasner will lead the team against Burnley this weekend but won’t be in the dugout for the match against the Toffees on Monday night.

Since departing Frankfurt at the end of the 2022–2023 season, Glasner has not had a job. The 49-year-old Austrian managed the German team for 97 games, winning 38 of them. In 2022, he guided them to the Europa League final, where they defeated Rangers and West Ham.

“I’m delighted to welcome Oliver to the club,” Parish stated. With his stellar track record, we think he’s the ideal manager to lead the team at this crucial juncture.

“We feel Oliver’s ambition and his exciting and attacking style are the ideal combination for getting the most out of our talented young squad for the balance of this Premier League season and beyond. Success has followed Oliver everywhere he has gone thus far in his managerial career.”
