SAD report: The LSU best player has officially announced to step down, Due to his marriage…

With a 40-point victory over Florida on Sunday, the LSU Tigers got back on track after dropping their previous two games. Regretfully, the harm had already been done in terms of the most recent rankings.

The LSU women’s basketball team dropped four positions from No. 9 to No. 13 in the AP Top 25 on Monday, falling out of the top 10 for the first time this season.

Although the Tigers are 19-4, they had lost three of their previous five games coming into their matchup against the Gators on Sunday. But going into the second half of SEC play, that significant victory over Florida ought to give the team some confidence again.

Hailey Van Lith appeared to be returning to Baton Rouge early on Thursday.

Van Lith did not make an announcement before the deadline to enter the 2024 WNBA draft on Wednesday night, so it looked as though she would likely return to Baton Rouge for another season. However, Van Lith has chosen to use the transfer site, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, who revealed this on Thursday afternoon.

The product of Wenatchee, Washington, was a two-time First Team All-SEC honoree with the Cardinals before joining them as a transfer from Louisville last offseason. Her arrival was predicted to help the Tigers win the national championship again this coming season.

There were highs and lows during her tenure with the Tigers, though. This season, she switched to point guard, which naturally led to a decline in output. At Louisville, where they played previous season, they averaged 19.7 points per game; this year, they only managed 11.6.
