Unbelievable, Hiroshi Sasaki, of the shohei ohtani has announced his return just now….

Although Shohei Ohtani will not be pitching in 2024, is it possible that he will play on the field in addition to becoming the Los Angeles Dodgers’ designated hitter?

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said there was a slim probability.

This week, the Dodgers are playing the San Diego Padres in the Seoul Series in South Korea. Roberts stated that Ohtani will start a throwing regimen upon the team’s return home, with the goal of getting back on the mound in 2025. In the event that things go well, the $700 million offseason acquisition might also get some playing time this year.

Ohtani’s elbow surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, recently stated that Ohtani might resume pitching in simulated games by the end of September if the throwing program proceeds as expected.

Roberts remarked, “I think anything is possible with Shohei.”

Ohtani underwent a second right elbow surgery in September, so this season, Roberts and the Dodgers will prioritize using Ohtani at the plate. If he can play in the outfield, it will be because of a few factors, including the success of the throwing program, the need for a hitter at that position, and Ohtani’s own comfort level.

In his seven major league games, Ohtani has only appeared on the field once. That one game was an outfield outing with the Los Angeles Angels in 2021.
