Heartbreak report: Jackson Chourio is suspended due to the serious catastrophic…
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (AP) – Jackson Chourio is shown maturity beyond his years and proving why the Milwaukee Brewers made such a large investment in him prior to his major league debut.
His most recent instance happened on Tuesday at American Family Field during the 20-year-old’s maiden at-bat in front of the home fans. With the bases loaded and one out in the third inning of a scoreless game, Chourio took the field.
It was the kind of scenario that could have easily led an average novice to overdo it. The Brewers defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-2 thanks to a single to right by Chourio, who put the team up for good.
“The mindset is that it’s just another game,” Chourio stated via a translator. “You have to play each game as it comes and keep being the best version of yourself.”
Chourio has carried out this action. With four games played, he is batting.375 (6 for 16) and has demonstrated the skills that allowed him to dominate the minor league system as a youth.
Because of this, the Brewers gave him an eight-year, $82 million contract although he had only appeared in six games above Double-A.
“He’s an absolute gem.”
In spite of playing in baseball’s lowest market, Chourio has gained attention thanks to that large contract. When the Brewers traveled to New York and began the season with a three-game sweep of the Mets, he demonstrated his capacity to flourish in the spotlight.
With his age of 20 years and 18 days, Chourio is now the fifth-youngest player to hit leadoff in his Major League Baseball debut, only surpassed by four 19-year-olds: Bobby Doerr in 1937, Billy Consolo in 1954, Bob Kennedy in 1940, and Sibby Sisti. Among them, Doerr was the only one making his debut.
“To be honest, I felt at ease in New York from the moment I arrived,” Chourio remarked. “It was somewhat beneficial to finish that one. I had confidence and felt at ease.
