Concerning the connection between New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and his staff, a new revelation reveals additional troubling details.

The Giants’ 2023–2024 NFL season ended poorly. Despite winning the season finale game against the Philadelphia Eagles, they had previously dropped three games in a row and finished with 11 losses despite making the playoffs in 2022.

There were rumors during the season that defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale and head coach Brian Daboll were becoming more and more estranged. Both attempted to downplay the problems, but the HC dismissed two of Martindale’s top assistants, and the DC quit the team after an intense confrontation with Daboll in the Giants’ training facility the week after the team’s victory over the Eagles.

There appears to be a growing rift between Daboll and his coaching staff as a whole, not just his former defensive coordinator, and on Monday, more information emerged.

A worrying occurrence occurred during the team’s Week 11 game against the Washington Commanders, according to New York Daily News Giants writer Pat Leonard. Daboll allegedly told Martindale over the headsets, “You’re gonna lose this game just like you lost us the Jets game,” as the opposition threatened to mount a comeback.

That is an unexpected statement. The Giants’ defense truly saved them in their Week 8 13-10 loss to the New York Jets, not just because they would keep the Commanders to 19 and win the game. a contest in which the offense, with backup, gained fewer than 200 yards in total
