Heartbreaking news: The Tottenham’ head coach is suspended after it proved that he had an affair with his key player’s wife
Exclusive to Cristian Stellini: An assistant at Tottenham claims that without Antonio Conte, players are assuming greater responsibility.
Exclusive to Sky Sports: After suffering two straight losses, Tottenham has bounced back thanks to the ‘wonderful’ young midfield duo of Oliver Skipp and Pape Matar Sarr, according to assistant Cristian Stellini.
Following a post-operative check following recent gallbladder surgery, it was revealed earlier this week that Spurs head coach Antonio Conte would stay in Italy following the team’s 1-0 Champions League loss to AC Milan.
Thus, for the third time this season, his countryman and aide will step up to take command.
The first time was during a 2-1 Champions League victory over Marseille in November, during which Conte was compelled to serve a touchline ban; the second was on February 5 during a 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester City.
For a man who spent five months as the head coach of Serie C team Alessandria in 2017, two victories in two games is not terrible going.
But he rapidly disproves any notion that he is having fun with this. Nothing more than “holding the fort” here.
At Tottenham’s Hotspur Way training facility, he says in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, “My feeling is to be responsible; my feeling is not to enjoy this.”
