The New Orleans Saints two most talented players have returned to their country, and they insisted with anger on featuring for their counties in the championship as soon as this weekend.

The two most gifted players for the New Orleans Saints have gone home, and they have angrily insisted on playing for their nations in the championship as soon as this coming weekend.

Beggan and Jackson, along with fellow GAA player Charlie Smyth, who was signed by the New Orleans Saints, have been trialing in America for the past month in the hopes of obtaining an NFL kicker contract through the international player pathway.

Neither Beggan nor Jackson have been signed as of yet; therefore, they have both made the decision to go back home.

Though the athletes’ hopes of signing with an NFL team in the coming months ahead of the new season are still alive, this does not mean that their NFL aspirations are dead.

Beggan and Jackson had originally intended to return home in the first part of March, but they decided to stay in the United States longer. They participated in the University of South Florida Pro Day last week, which led to the contract offer for Down player Smyth.

Beggan (31) may have a role in their championship matchup with Cavan this weekend, as the Irish News reported on Monday night that he participated in a training camp with the Monaghan football team over the weekend.

Jackson might also be playing this Sunday in O’Moore Park in Laois, where Oisin McConville’s Wicklow football team plays Division Three Champions Westmeath in the first round of the Leinster football competition.

After losing their respective goalkeepers, Wicklow and Monaghan were demoted to Division Four and Division Two, respectively, suggesting that they both lost their starting stops.

Throughout their US tour, Beggan and Jackson each made an impression at different points. The Monaghan native, for example, kicked ten out of ten on his pro day in Tampa last week. Jackson, 25, made headlines as well after breaking Justin Tucker’s record with a massive 70-yard field goal.

After Monaghan’s victory over Dublin in the Allianz National Football League’s preliminary round, manager Vinny Corey said that Beggan would be cordially received upon his return.

He’s his own man; listen to me. Since they are all adults, they are capable of making their own life decisions, he said to TG4.

“What we (Monaghan) do is valuable as well, and he loves playing for Monaghan and his club Scotstown, so it’s not a done deal; he’s going to go investigate it, but as I mentioned, hopefully he’ll come to his senses in the end.”
