The Ipswich Twon goalkeeper has been suspended due to a misunderstanding, which is unbelievable news for Wolverhamton fans.

The Celtic team needs a new goalie. Before this season ends, Joe Hart will turn 37 years old. He has recently been the target of some criticism. The Hoops will eventually need to bring in a long-term player. Would a 33-year-old who is presently competing in the English Championship hold the key to their problems?

The majority of Celtics supporters would undoubtedly prefer that the team select an established, seasoned player who is still in his mid-20s. However, the team has lately been linked to a deal for Ipswich Town’s Vaclav Hladky.

Hladky was playing football for Salford City FC in the English fourth level not too long ago. Having played for St. Mirren, he has also previously resided in Scotland. Neither of his first two seasons at Ipswich Town were particularly noteworthy.

He seemed to have seen a meteoric climb this time around. As Ipswich Town, who presently sit second in the table, look to push for promotion to the Premier League, Hladky has been one of the greatest goalkeepers in the Championship.

However, Hladky’s present contract with Ipswich Town expires this summer. This implies that, if he so desired, he could sign a pre-contract with Celtic. A statement made by Carlton Palmer to Football League World stated:

“I think eleven Ipswich players may sign pre-contract agreements elsewhere in January, and Vaclav Hladky, the Czech international goalkeeper for Ipswich, is reportedly very interested in joining Celtic.”

“Vaclav, 33, has a contract that expires at the end of the current campaign.

“Whether or not they sign new contracts, other clubs will be interested in signing them as free agents because they can command good salaries. Ipswich are in a strong position with the players they have out of contract at the end of the season. The players will keep performing because they want to get promoted to the Premier League, and back-to-back promotions would put them in Ipswich folklore for years to come.

Should Ipswich get promoted to the Premier League, they will have the opportunity to let go of players they believe won’t be good enough at that level. This is because they made no major changes when they were promoted to the championship.

“The only issue is if players heads get turned into speaking to other clubs, such as Vaclav; in this case, he could sign a pre-contract with Celtic in January.”

Hladky’s potential signing will not persuade the majority of Celtic supporters. To be fair to him, he is undoubtedly a terrific goalie and is performing admirably at the moment.

Nevertheless, at 33 years old, he is already playing at a high level. So, could Hladky or someone similar be a long-term Celtic solution? It most definitely doesn’t feel that way. He could, of course, make a good case if someone like Benjamin Siegrist were to depart.
