Another bad news hits the Dallas Cowboys: The head coach of the Dallas Cowboys shed tears as four of his star players made a final decision to terminate their huge contracts.

The Dallas Cowboys have received more unfavorable news: Four of their finest players have decided to end their enormous contracts, causing the head coach to cry.

Francisco: In a “new report” on the job security of Mike McCarthy, ESPN both regurgitates old news and puts a weirdly positive spin on a Dallas Cowboys decision that, by any measure, is a “jury-is-out” issue.

Following one of the most unexpected and depressing season finales in the Cowboys’ illustrious 64-year history, Jerry Jones, the team’s owner, decided on Wednesday night to keep McCarthy as head coach.

“Jones basically is making McCarthy… coach the Cowboys as a lame duck by choosing to keep his head coach and force him to work next season with no job security and on the final year of his contract,” we wrote that evening.

That’s what we were told. That’s what we told you. However, four days later, ESPN’s Adam Schefter claims to have “sources” that can confirm it.

Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy, bizarre monkey butt, and motivational tactics left lasting impression
In the meantime, here is a direct remark from Jones outlining his choice: “I think Mike McCarthy will be our head coach and this team is very close and capable of reaching our ultimate goals.” As our head coach, Mike has the ability to lead the squad to tremendous success, and I fully support him in his role and his ability to help us achieve our objectives.”

And that’s it. This is “punishment” for Jones since we know that prior to the heartbreaking loss to Green Bay, Jones intended to offer McCarthy a contract extension, and we also know that the loss stifled that planned offer.

ESPN is attempting to spin it in a different direction, according to Schefter, who notes that Jones believes that “the final year of a contract can often bring out the best in people.”

It is accurate. McCarthy, though, isn’t a helpless victim since it works in his favor. An extension would be a prize that he did not deserve, so he is not receiving one.
