Brian Daboll had a lot of dreams when he was hired for his ideal position this offseason. The first one was turning the Giants back into a successful team after ten years of being directionless and lost in the Jersey swamps.

What Daboll failed to account for in his first two days on the job was having to tell 27 guys, who had torn themselves apart at the sweltering training camp this summer, that they would not be joining the 53-man roster.

Originally a beat reporter for the Jets from 1993 to 2010, Mark Cannizzaro joined the New York Post in 1993 and has written pieces about the Jets, Giants, NFL, NCAA basketball, soccer, and many other sports. Since 1993, he has written about golf for The Post and covered over 100 major championships. Mark participated in the soccer and tennis teams at Ithaca College, where he earned his degree in 1983. He most likely spends his free time with his wife Carolyn in a nice restaurant or on the golf course.
