Ajax’s four highest-paid players are currently being abducted for money.

Ajax has one of the most profitable business models in international sports.

The Dutch giants have persisted in competing for prizes despite losing their greatest stars in practically every summer transfer window for astounding numbers.

With one of the top football academies in the world, Ajax has ensured that they generate a lot of money from player sales, thanks to a seemingly never-ending supply of wonderkids coming through, particularly in the last decade.

As if that weren’t enough, they’ve mastered the art of acquiring external talent at a low cost and then selling it for a large profit.

Several players, including Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt, Hakim Ziyech, Donny van de Beek, and many others, joined Ajax as young players and left as superstars.

Ajax also ensured that they received a significant return on their investment by marketing them to prospective customers.

They recently sold Antony to Manchester United for €95 million (£85.5 million), bringing their total sales to around €600 million (£525 million) since the 2019–20 season.
