ATLANTA — In 2021, the three-time NL East champion Atlanta Braves will re-appoint much of their coaching staff.
Bench coach Walt Weiss, who has spent four seasons with the Braves, hitting coach Kevin Seitzer, who has spent seven, pitching coach Rick Kranitz, who has spent three, third base coach Ron Washington, who has spent five, catching coach Sal Fasano, who has spent four, and assistant hitting coach José Castro, who has spent seven, will once again support manager Brian Snitker.
Eric Young Sr., the Braves’ first base and outfield coach, will also be back for a fourth season after choosing not to travel during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, in which the team won another division.
French was a member of the Houston Astros organization for the previous five seasons. After serving as the organization’s assistant hitting coordinator during the previous season, Magallanes joined the Braves in 2019 as the hitting coach at Triple-A Gwinnett.
