23 March 2022, Denver, Colorado President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly, Vice Chairman Josh Kroenke, Governor E. Stanley Kroenke, and Head Coach Michael Malone of the Denver Nuggets have reached a multiyear contract extension. The specifics of the extension were withheld in accordance with team policy.

After being hired in June 2015, head coach Michael Malone is currently in his sixth season with Denver. With 309 victories as the Nuggets’ head coach, he now holds the fifth-longest tenure of any coach in the NBA and ranks third in the team’s history. The Nuggets have made it to the postseason in each of the previous three campaigns, and in 2020 they will make their first trip to the Western Conference Finals since 2009. Western Conference from the beginning of the 2018–19 season to 2020–21, and they are second only to the Milwaukee Bucks in terms of the total number of regular season and postseason victories (210) throughout the previous three or more seasons. With 20 postseason wins, Malone is only four wins behind Doug Moe (24) for the top spot all-time in the franchise’s history.
