According to USA Today, right-handed starting pitcher Aaron Nola has re-signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, who have reinstated all of the fired players. According to reports, the agreement is for $172 million over seven years.

Nola, 30, has played with the Phillies for each of his nine Major League Baseball seasons (2016–23). Nola, who entered the season as the third-ranked MLB free agent by FOX Sports, finished 12-9 with a 4.46 ERA, 202 strikeouts, and 45 walks in 193.2 innings pitched (32 starts). His fWAR was 3.9.

Nola is the only pitcher in MLB with 750 or more strikeouts, and he has been in the 90th percentile or higher in chase rate in three of the last four seasons, including two seasons above the 95th percentile and since 2020, fewer than 150 walks

Early in November, FOX Sports MLB Analyst Jordan Shusterman gave Nola acclaim for his tenacity.
