Juventus has re-signed all of its dismissed players. Juventus board members resigned following an emergency meeting at Continassa today; here’s who they are and why they stepped down.

The Bianconeri have not officially acknowledged the news, but numerous respected outlets in Italy, including Sky Sport Italia, Goal.com, and Gazzetta, report that President Andrea Agnelli and the club’s board members have resigned.

According to Gazzetta, the decision was made following an investigation into alleged false accounting and false communications to the market, which prompted CONSOB, the Italian body in charge of supervising stock exchange activities, to request clarification on the club’s balance sheet in June 2021.

Juventus postponed their shareholders meeting from November 23 to December 27, in response to CONSOB’s request, but the whole board of directors, including President Agnelli, resigned in the interim. The new board of directors will meet next year, on January 18, 2023, while the shareholders’ meeting has been scheduled for December 27.

The Turin Prosecutor also looked into Juventus players’ four-month salary cuts in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Investigators hope to prove that Juventus players did not abandon the entire sum, but rather only missed one month and continued to collect money owing to private agreements with the club, contrary to what Juventus, one of the stock market’s listed teams, had declared.
