“I have a thousand things that I want to do, a million things… everything that I do outside of the game has just lit me up, and I really enjoy doing it,” he stated. “I just want to go out on my own terms.”
In 2020, the 34-year-old inked a two-year deal with New York, where he developed into one of the team’s best relievers.
In 2021, May made a career-high 68 appearances and finished with a 7-3 record and 3.59 ERA. In 62 2/3 innings, he struck out 83 hitters while recording four saves.
