Ungreatful decision. The all-time player for Karistaps has declined the Lakers request
Boston was behind the depleted Los Angeles team by double digits by the third quarter.
With 9:04 left in the third, coach Joe Mazzulla decided to send a message to the fans by benching Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, and Jaylen Brown. The fans were jeering.
After sitting out the remainder of the third quarter, Brown and Porzingis entered to begin the fourth. Before substituting for Derrick White, Holiday sat for approximately three minutes.

After the match, Mazzulla stated that it would be too harsh to characterize the defeat as “embarrassing,” but he did declare the Celtics’ style of play to be “unacceptable.”
“We’re not playing well; we’re having bad basketball runs, and we played poorly tonight,” Mazzulla remarked. “There’s a difference between telling someone we did a bad job and telling them they should feel ashamed. That seems really harsh to me.
Thus, accountability exists. Mazzulla continued. “Our performance is lacking. I feel like you can’t escape from that. As if that were the only reality. It is certain to occur.
Holding the starters accountable, according to Mazzulla, included sitting them.
“I think so,” Mazzulla replied. Indeed. I believe part of the reason is that I’ve done that to our entire team at various times during the season.
Upon being selected for his third All-Star team during the game, Jaylen Brown said he’s ready to move on from the loss.
According to Brown, “It kind of is what it is.” “We didn’t put in our best effort. I wasn’t putting my all into it. I really don’t know what to say about that. Every time I take the court, I try to contribute.
“I wanted to make sure that I was hitting our guys in stride, sharing the ball, and being unselfish tonight,” Brown stated. It was somewhat irresponsible. It wasn’t my best game. You know, I’ll move on and prepare for the next one.
