WTVD (Chapel Hill) Due to their indefinite “benched” status, two football players for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will not play in Saturday’s game against Wake Forest.

M.J. Stewart, a sophomore cornerback, and Mike Hughes, a freshman cornerback, are accused of breaking team rules by UNC.

The two players got into a fight on October 4th, which led to the suspension.

Stewart then handed himself in to the police, where he was accused of misdemeanor violence and assault.

Since then, he has been freed on a $2,000 bond, and his next court date is set for October 22.
