After receiving inquiries from seven teams regarding the availability of star cornerback Patrick Surtain II, the Denver Broncos turned down three trade offers, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Because of his talent and potential, Denver never thought about trading the promising 23-year-old defensive back, according to Schefter.

The source informed Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles had inquired about potential trade scenarios. Denver reportedly insisted on getting a sizable haul in exchange for Surtain. The Eagles signed safety Kevin Byard before the deadline, and the Niners chose to sign pass rusher Chase Young.

Following the trade deadline on October 31, head coach Sean Payton informed reporters that the team was not shopping anyone.

Despite the Broncos’ difficulties during the previous season, Surtain has become a useful piece in the secondary over the last few seasons. After 41 games, the 2021 first-round selection has accumulated 148 tackles, 32 passes defended, and seven interceptions. In 2022, he was selected as a first-team All-Pro and was selected for his first Pro Bowl.

In eight games this season, the Alabama product tallied 30 tackles along with one interception. Surtain is using his rookie contract at the moment. After this season, the Broncos may exercise his fifth-year option under his contract.

“We won’t lose our minds over a game where the ball belongs to the Broncos and ends up in Patrick Mahomes’ stomach.”
“Well, we wouldn’t go so far as to say that watching a film of the Broncos offense two weeks ago caused Mahomes to get sick in the stomach, but…”
“You hate to put the blame on one person, but that two-year-old who gave Mahomes’ child the flu bears a heavy burden for this loss.”
A small amount of anticipation was shown for the Miami Dolphins game in Frankfurt, Germany. As an illustration, L’Jarius Sneed forwent his film study sessions in favor of German Berlitz classes.
“We just have to take a chance and give Justin Simmons a chance to replace Skky Moore.”
“Look, there’s no avoiding this.”
