It’s a good idea to say goodbye.

The Jaguars had one of their worst games of the year going into open week, a series of self-inflicted errors that rendered an already challenging assignment unfeasible.

To defeat the Chiefs in Kansas City, Jacksonville had to play almost flawlessly, and they fell well short of that. The Jaguars lost 27-17 on Sunday as they failed to stop Patrick Mahomes, missed two field goals, and gained little from three takeaways.

The discouraging aspect of Jacksonville, a 9.5-point underdog, was that an upset was possible.

Jaguars coach Doug Pederson stated, “I think as a team today, it was a game of missed opportunity.”

The Jaguars didn’t offer Trevor Lawrence much assistance, but he still had another fantastic performance. With five minutes and 26 seconds remaining, he made the score a respectable 27-17 with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk, but it was too deep of a hole to escape.
